This course offer an introduction to the techniques of creating small scale sculptures in polymer clay. We will be using Super Sculpey, a very versatile and easy to use clay-like medium which once sculpted is cooked to a hard state and can be finished with various effects so you can leave with a unique piece of your own creation.

I have been working as a commercial sculptor and model maker for over 20 years for clients ranging from Aardman Animation to The Guardian Supplement. I love sharing the experience of bringing something into the world that wasn’t there before, something which is a reflection of your true self.

During this series of hands-on sessions you can learn the skills and techniques to create imaginative sculptures in polymer clay, for any level from beginner onwards.

All materials included, and we will cover:

• Armature making
• Sculpting
• Finishing a figure
• And final finishes

Five week in depth Saturday morning course:

5th October – 2nd November 2024, 10am-1pm  – £150

The 5 week course will delve a little deeper into the medium. Providing support for the novice as well as those with experience and introducing other elements including drawing techniques and ways of presenting your work.

For this course if you already have an idea or a drawing you want to make please bring it along. All materials will be provided including basic sculpting tools but please feel free to bring your own. Since we will be looking at using reference your trusty mobile phone, tablet or laptop can be very useful to inform your work, because although we will be using our imagination, reference can be a good friend.
