Learn how to make a found object puppet in a wonderful workshop in East Bristol.
Led by puppeteer Siân Kidd, this two day intensive course is aimed at people who wish to learn the process of designing, making and operating a marionette (or string puppet)
Participants will make a unique marionette creature (Boney Wonder) using mudlarked bone from the River Thames, as well as other natural and found objects. You will be shown how to work with different materials, glues and tools at a pace that works for you.
Each participant will come away with a finished puppet and will be taught basic operating skills so that they can bring their creature to life. No previous making experience is necessary but a willingness to learn is essential!
There will be a shared lunch on both days and participants are encouraged to bring a Vegetarian/Vegan dish along. (Please get in touch if you have any special dietary requirements!)
Participants are also encouraged to bring along their own objects that they may wish to incorporate in to their puppets.
The course will take place at InBristol studios in Barton Hill. It is roughly 10 minutes walk from Lawrence Hill station or 20 minutes from Temple Meads. Full details will be sent out on booking.
