Jay’s practice combines traditional media, digital art and 3D making, especially needle felting- any medium in which he can create strange and endearing creatures. His work has a narrative focus, exploring the bogs and forests of nature, emotion and personhood.
His background in science and wildlife conservation informs all his projects. His hope in making art is always that the viewer will come away with a sense of warmth and curiosity towards world around them.
As one quarter of Seadog Collective, Jay has tabled at art fairs including Bristol Comic and Zine Fair, Brighton Illustration Fair, Stwff Cardiff and Thought Bubble.
His interests include reading manga, identifying wild flowers and staring at snails.
