Combining painting with textiles, Alice works intuitively to create patched-together pieces. Her practice is informed by folk tales, myths, rituals, and costumes from different cultures, with a particular interest in how these narratives remain open to interpretation within her own search for meaning.

These stories are interpreted and reinterpreted over time, time which is often marked and honoured by rituals that follow the cyclical rhythms of nature. For Alice, time is a reminder of nature’s enduring power, which leaves her hopeful at the idea that we are a part of a something greater than ourselves, that is beyond what we can perceive.
