Kelly is a ceramic artist, who makes functional ceramics which bring joy to the everyday. Kelly’s work is inspired by a love of pattern, and texture. Kelly is inspired by textiles, landscapes and plants.
Kelly creates small batches of pottery, which is wheel thrown or slab build. Kelly enjoys creating, as it gives the opportunity to slow down, and focus on one thing. Kelly often carves or paints designs on her pots.
Having studied Textiles design for fashion at Brighton University, Kelly finds inspiration from textiles, such as weave patterns, and bark cloth design. Kelly enjoys sketching patterns, and playing with scale and repetition.
Kelly spent 3 years living in Thailand, where she practiced ceramics at InClay studio in Chiang Mai, Kelly found inspiration and peace in the lush forests, mountains and plants.
