Emma Jean Kemp

“I have always been a maker and love experimenting with various materials and learning new processes. This means that I am heavily involved in the making from start to finish, though I’m having to relinquish some of that involvement, the busier I get.”

Emma’s sculpture appeals to the senses; her work explores human experience, from how we feel to how we move, to how we deal with everyday life and the choices we make.

The plinths are an integral part of the work; by designing bespoke structures, Emma playfully explores how the figure is displayed in a way that invites them to interact with their surroundings and tell their story.
