Karen’s work is inspired by nature, the natural cycles of life and death and the interconnectedness of all things. It celebrates ancient crafts and their hand made qualities. Karen uses traditional crafts in a modern way, mixing mediums of textile and clay, exploring the use of crafts in art.
With her offspring now grown and having won two awards through Galeria Moderna’s Invitational, a commission through Creative Curve, along with being selected two years running in The Heart of The Tribe, winter exhibitions, Karen has moved to Bristol to immerse herself in the diverse cultures and earn her income from her art. She has joined In Bristol Studio and recently been a volunteer at the Diaspora Festival among other local events.
This year sees Karen continuing her work as a Forest School Leader, and creatively focussing on developing a range of hand sculpted ceramic tiles, as well as launching her Processing Your Grief Through Stitch, workshops as one of the services offered by Return To Source CIC, of which she is a director.
Karen can be found on social media and has a Not On Amazon online shop and her own website.
