Hui Qing is a visual development artist and illustrator. They’ve yet to regret moving from sunny Malaysia to gloomy UK. Their main love is telling stories with colour and characters. Their art also seeks to explore the fantastical in the mundane, and the mundane in the fantastical.
They’ve worked in animation, children’s books, editorial, and comics. Past clients include: Jessica Kingsley Publishers, Quindrie Press, IWRAW Asia Pacific, New Naratif, and Me Books. Me and My Dysphoria Monster, which they illustrated, was longlisted for Best Picture Book at the 2023 Diverse Book awards.
They are part of Seadog Collective, tabling at events like Thought Bubble, Pride CAF, and Cardiff Zine Fair.
