Alice’s inlay technique involves layering different coloured clays to create intricate, detailed designs and patterns, often highlighting each inlaid pattern with black slip outlines. Her work combines different colours and shapes to create cohesive, harmonious patterns in each one-of-a-kind ceramic piece. She has developed a unique style that combines traditional ceramic hand building and wheel throwing techniques with a modern, contemporary aesthetic.
Having studied Graphic and Jewellery Design at university in Australia, Alice’s work is often inspired by patterns and shapes in textiles and architecture. Alice is most often drawn to irregular geometric shapes and repeat patterns, experimenting with balance and scale in her work.
