 e leading a two-day intermediate lettering masterclass at In Bristol Studi
 o on Monday 27 &amp\; Tuesday 28 October 2025.\n\nThis two-day intermediat
 e level hand engraving course is aimed at existing jewellers and hand engr
 avers looking to incorporate lettering into their everyday work . Hand cut
  lettering has always been considered a beautiful embellishment of jewelle
 ry items \, personalising it to the owner.\n\nThrough various exercises we
  will understand the principles of designing and cut formation of various 
 fonts to produce exciting visual lettering that can be applied to your own
  jewellery pieces.\n\nCourse Deliverables:\n\n 	An understanding of variou
 s types of lettering found on jewellery pieces\n 	Graver preparation speci
 fic to lettering\n 	Work-holding\n 	Designing fonts\n 	Techniques for layo
 ut and transferring designs\n 	Basic font styles: Block\, Roman and Script
 \n 	Font embellishment techniques: wriggle cuts\, ribbon\, lined and shado
 ws\n 	Illustrative lettering - including single \, 2 and 3 monograms\n\nBy
  the end of the course\, you'll be equipped with the foundational skills t
 o integrate personalised\, hand-cut lettering into your jewellery pieces w
 ith precision and flair.\n\nTo enrol in this intermediate-level course\, y
 ou must have either completed the Introduction to Hand Engraving course wi
 th John or possess a basic understanding of engraving techniques. This inc
 ludes experience with tool preparation and sharpening\, transferring desig
 ns\, and confident use of flat\, round\, and square gravers.\n\nAll letter
 ing exercises will be practised on a flat copper plate\, which is included
  as part of the course materials.  You are encouraged to bring your own 
 graver tools\, or simply come as you are—tools will be provided\, and so
 me may be available for purchase on the day (subject to availability).\n\n
 A light lunch\, snacks and beverages will be provided on both days of the
